History of PVC
This material, which is the raw material of PVC hose and abbreviated as PVC, is known as Polyvinyl chloride. Discovered by accident in two different forms in the 19th century, PVC was tested in commercial products at the beginning of the 20th century. However, the brittleness of the polymer, as well as the difficulties of processing in the solid state, stopped these commercial efforts, until 1926. In this year, PVC was mixed with different additives, and thus, with the development of the plasticization method, more flexible and easier to process PVC pipes and PVC hose materials emerged.
What is PVC?
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) has a wide range of uses. Polyethylene, polypropylene and polymer materials are the most produced synthetic plastic products in the world.
PVC has two different classes as flexible and solid form;
Soft and flexible PVC products are obtained by adding substances that make the materials fluid, also called phthalates. Flexible PVC, which has application areas where it is used instead of rubber, has also been used in the health sector for the last 50 years.
PVC hoses produced with the flexible PVC material we mentioned are used for transferring and absorbing different liquid, gas and chemical substances. PVC Hoses can be multi-layered depending on the situation. PVC Hoses can also be found in different types and colors according to the areas they are used.

On the other hand, PVC in solid form is available and used in a wide range of products from pipe and installation materials to door and window profiles in the construction sector.
That’s why PVC material takes its place in many areas from traditional building materials such as wood, concrete and clay materials, and this solid PVC is used in various sectors from bottles to bank cards.
